Enrol in Monsters University Today: New TV Spot

Pixar has released a new TV spot for Monsters University. But there's no Mike or Sully to be seen, instead it's a spot-on parody of those terribly earnest University recruitment videos wherein the institution's core values are celebrated.

If you didn't already know, the movie will follow Mike and Sully during their college days, as they hone their skills scaring kids and become close friends.

The film is directed by Dan Scanlon and will be released in the US on 21 June, 2013 and in the UK on 12 July, 2013.

Miyamoto: Pikmin 3 Will be More Like the Original Pikmin

Shigeru Miyamoto has stated that Pikmin 3 on Wii U will have more in common with the original title in the series, which focussed more squarely on strategy.

Speaking to GamesMaster (via ONM), he revealed that he didn't agree with the decision to make the sequel less stressful for the player than the original.

Miyamoto said, "That's actually something that all the staff members had to debate over when we were discussing what kind of direction we should take for Pikmin 3. First of all by looking at Pikmin 1 we noticed that it wasn't a very easy game for people to play, and from time to time they had to feel some stress.

"Our main aim in Pikmin 2 was to get rid of any stress as much as possible, so that it would be very user-friendly. Well, I myself couldn't agree with that direction perfectly. That kind of nature of Pikmin 1 was exactly what I wanted to reproduce and I was actually intentionally doing so, so that Pikmin 1 could be a strategic game."

And that spirit has been reflected by what Miyamoto has been telling his team. "When we started creating Pikmin 3 I gathered the main members who worked on Pikmin 2 and talked about how I thought it was important to get back to the basics of Pikmin 1. Or I should say that half of my job at that time wasn't just to talk, but rather to persuade them to understand what I intended to do and to agree to my idea."

Black Ops 2 'Revolution' DLC Details

The first bit of DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been leaked online.

The expansion is titled 'Revolution', and if the leaked promotional images (via MP1st) are to be believed, it will contain four new multiplayer maps and one new map for the zombies mode.

The new MP maps are called Hydro, Downhill, Grind and Mirage, while the zombies map is named Die Rise. And you'll be able to run around levels wielding the new Peacekeeper SMG.

Another leaked image states that the Revolution expansion will come to Xbox 360 on Tuesday, 29th January, and will be an exclusive for a limited amount of time.

Apple Reportedly Testing Next iPhone and iOS 7

Just a few short months after releasing the iPhone 5, Apple may already be testing its next smartphone. According to a report from The Next Web, app developers claim to have discovered references to iPhone 6,1 and iOS 7 in usage logs from IP addresses originating from Apple's Cupertino campus. The identifiers align with Apple's current naming conventions, which refer to the iPhone 5 as iPhone 5,1 and iPhone 5,2 in iOS development software. While no additional details could be discerned from the logs and the validity of the references cannot be confirmed, given Apple's lengthy development cycles, it seems reasonable to assume that testing of the new iPhone is well underway.

What's still unknown, however, is what new features the device and latest version of iOS will include and when we might see them. With many prior iterations making their debut at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June and the iPhone 5 not appearing until September of last year, it seems as though Apple's latest and greatest may still be months away.

Intel Rumored to Be Prepping a Pay-Per-Channel Streaming TV Service

Consumers may soon be able to ditch expensive cable packages and stream only their favorite channels via the internet with Intel's rumored TV service. According to a new report from Forbes, Intel is preparing to announce a new set-top box that will stream television and movies over the internet without an existing subscription to a cable or satellite provider, which is currently a pre-requisite for apps like HBO Go. Instead of paying for hundreds of channels as part of a bundle, users will reportedly be able to subscribe to certain networks or even certain shows — a first for the industry. The site's "industry insiders" go on to say that the set-top box will utilize a cloud DVR system, allowing users to store and watch programs even after they've aired. Last year, similar rumors began to circulate about an Apple-branded TV service, however, the company encountered problems when negotiating with networks about splitting revenues. Intel, however, is investing "heavily" in its partnerships, according to the sources.

Intel's rumored set-top box could begin rolling out to consumers as early as March, however, spokespeople for the company say the service will not be discussed at CES next week.
