A 22 Jump Street follow-up — titled 23 Jump Street, obviously — is moving forward at Sony Pictures.
Deadline reports that Sony and Original Film have hired Rodney Rothman to pen the screenplay for the third film in the franchise, which stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. Rothman was a co-writer for 22 Jump Street.
As for director's Phil Lord and Chris Miller, it's unclear if the duo will return to helm 23 Jump Street. They helmed the first two entries in the series and also directed The LEGO Movie, which released earlier this year. Though, the report states that they are overseeing Rothman's screenplay, as well as producing 23 Jump Street with Neal Moritz, Tatum, and Hill.
Lord and Miller are currently developing a remake of The Greatest American Hero for 20th Century FOX TV.
